A Brief History Of Long Mynd Archers

In 1978 the Bishops’ Castle Archery Club broke up when a number of members decided that they preferred small bore rifles to bows.

The nucleus of members which remained was then reinforced by people from the Church Stretton Area, amongst whom were Tom and Sue Williamson and the club was reconstituted as Long Mynd Archers.  Tom is currently the GNAS (Archery GB) president 2008.  Link to GNAS Website

Long Mynd Archers is one of the biggest clubs in the UK and one of the first to be Club Mark accredited. LMA is part of the Shropshire Archery Society.
